Hermann Josef Hack declares the World Congress Center Bonn a CLIMATE REFUGEE CAMP

On Wednesday, German artist Hermann Josef Hack will set up a miniature climate refugee camp in front of the World Congress Center Bonn to confront Federal Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel and the other political leaders with the situation of more than 20 million people suffering from climate change. He wants to show them the effects caused by loss of biological diversity in a very special way. “Climate protection and nature conservation will prevent millions of people from becoming climate refugees. It is more important than ever that we shake up those people who bear responsibility and those who follow their lead. Europe is facing a never-ending flow of climate refugees. The solution cannot be to build higher border fences. Today, more than 20 million climate refugees are registered. I declare the World Congress Centre a climate refugee camp,” Hack says.
